Float Glass Industries (FGI) has supplied processed glass for prestigious hotel projects in London.
Using OptiwhiteTM from Pilkington, highly decorative headboards have been created for the newly refurbished bedrooms at Le Meridien's Cumberland, Russell, Grosvenor House and Waldorf Hotels in London.
As part of a major refurbishment of the hotels, FGI was appointed to produce elegant glass headboards featuring original artwork for the hotel bedrooms and suites.
The delicate designs, which reflect Le Meridien's new 'Art and Tech' concept, have been applied using innovative etching techniques. Approximately 1000m2 of low iron toughed glass in various sizes was required for the Cumberland Hotel contract alone, which was specified for its excellent lighting characteristics as each headboard is edge-lit to enhance the etched design.
Additional panels ranging from 1000 x 900mm to 2000 x 900mm were supplied for the Waldorf Hotel headboards.
